Barcelona will likely be missing one of their most in-form players for Saturday’s La Liga match against Athletic Club on their return to the Spotify Camp Nou as Hansi Flick revealed Marcus Rashford is dealing with a fever that’s caused him to miss the last two days of training.
Flick confirmed in a press conference on Friday that Rashford is currently doubtful and that Raphinha won’t be his replacement in the starting lineup, as the Brazilian will likely only play between 10 and 15 minutes at the end
of the game, according to the coach.
“Marcus has a fever and was out yesterday and today, and I have doubts about whether he’ll be available tomorrow, but the good news is that Raphinha will be back, and we’ll see what he can give us tomorrow. Ten, fifteen minutes… we’ll see, but it’s a big step that he’s back.”
Ferran Torres will likely get the nod to start on the left wing on Saturday if Rashford’s is indeed absent from the squad, though Roony Bardghji and Dro Fernández are also options for the position if the coach decides to go younger.
