Eichhorn to decide between Bayern, LFC, and Man City (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
If true, Hertha Berlin phenomenal Kennet Eichhorn might be deciding between a straight move to Bayern Munich and a potential transfers to either Liverpool or Manchester City with an immediate loan back to Germany:
✅ It is TRUE: Liverpool are interested in Kennet Eichhorn and there have already been talks over a transfer. It’s the same situation Manchester City are facing in that he’s not allowed to play in England until he turns 18. But Liverpool want to save the player, as do City and Bayern Munich,
but both Premier League clubs have to give him away on loan for the time being. He can sign a contract when he’s 18. That’s a big question for German clubs, as it’s a gamble, given he’s only 16. Bayern are prepared to bet on Eichhorn and give him a contract.
He’s got a big transfer fee attached (for German clubs, less so for English clubs) of €12m [£10.3m]. But there’s also a signing fee, and the player’s salary demands are not quite small (given the number of offers on the table). Such to the point that even Borussia Dortmund are saying it’s too much for them. And if it’s a problem for Dortmund, you can bet it will be a problem for RB Leipzig. Leipzig can say they’ll give him more playing time, but the idea of Liverpool and City is to loan Eichhorn back to the Bundesliga. This could work well for Bayer Leverkusen, but also for Dortmund or Leipzig. At Bayern Munich, it will be the case that they’ll point to Lennart Karl as a demonstration of the developmental opportunity they can provide a young player. They told him he can get playing time too under a fantastic coach in Vincent Kompany. Bayern has the green light from the supervisory board to go for Kennet Eichhorn. So, in the end, I think it’ll be a race between Bayern, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Good news for Leipzig if a Premier League club wins!
Bayern Munich is in a weird spot for this move. Clearly there are better option to get playing time and both Liverpool and Manchester City have worked around the youngster’s desire too stay in Germany. It would be a shame for Bayern Munich to miss on Eichhorn, but the timing might not be right.
Spalletti to bring Kim to Juve? (Football Italia)
Former Napoli boss and new Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti could be looking to reunite with his old charge — Bayern Munch’s Kim Min-jae:
Still, transfer rumours continue to circulate and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Bayern Munich defender Kim is a target for Juventus this summer. The South Korea international won the 2022-23 Scudetto playing under Spalletti, but has not been able to carve out a spot for himself as a guaranteed starter in Bavaria.
Reports claim that Juventus are eyeing a reunion between Luciano Spalletti and his former Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, that former Milan star Brahim Diaz could be an option in attack and that there are two current alternatives to Dusan Vlahovic at centre-forward.
It was a disappointing end to the 2025-26 season for Juventus, who dropped out of the top four in the final weeks of the campaign and ultimately failed to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League.
This leaves the Bianconeri with a few uncertainties on the transfer market. They had been hoping to provide Spalletti with a squad capable of competing for the Scudetto, but will have significantly fewer resources to do so without access to Europe’s premier competition.
It would seem like an absolutely ideal situation for Kim, but it is very unlikely that Juve will want to (or be able to) pay Kim’s salary. Can the clubs get creative to make it happen?
Real eyeing Rice? (ESPN)
Real Madrid could be eyeing a move for Arsenal star Declan Rice:
Some influential voices within Real Madrid have suggested that Arsenal’s Declan Rice should be the priority as debates continue about the club’s midfield plans, according to TEAMtalk. Madrid are actively assessing options to strengthen in that area, with Manchester City’s Rodri and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández both being firmly admired by the hierarchy at the Bernabéu. Despite the growing admiration Rice is receiving, the Gunners remain relaxed about the 27-year-old’s situation and have opened discussions about a new contract.
Getting Rice is probably not possible for Real Madrid, but it is not out of the realm of possibility that Los Blancos spend big elsewhere.
Bayern, PSG eyeing Martinelli? (TEAMtalk)
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking at Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli:
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have both made enquiries about Gabriel Martinelli’s availability, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal, with the Arsenal winger attracting serious interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Brazil international is facing an uncertain future at the Emirates as Arsenal continue their search for a new left-sided attacker, and sources have confirmed that Bayern and PSG are among the clubs closely monitoring developments.
We can reveal that Bayern Munich have made recent checks on Martinelli’s situation as they evaluate options capable of strengthening Vincent Kompany’s attack.
TEAMtalk understands that the Bundesliga champions are keen to provide more support and competition for Luis Diaz, who has quickly established himself as a key figure in Vincent Kompany’s plans.
Bayern Munich was reportedly looking at Martinelli last summer before it signed Luis Díaz. Could the Bavarians attempt to run that alleged pursuit back?
Silva to Barca? (ESPN)
FC Barcelona and Manchester City star Bernardo Silva have reportedly come to an agreement on a deal:
Barcelona have reached a complete agreement with Bernardo Silva to sign the midfielder as a free agent when his Manchester City contract expires, although the deal is not yet finalized, reports AS. The 31-year-old has always prioritized the Catalan club despite interest from Atlético, Benfica and sides from Turkey, France, Italy and other countries, such as Saudi Arabia. The deal still needs approval from Hansi Flick, who isn’t as enthusiastic about the Portugal international as the club’s sporting director and president.
Will there be a mass exodus after Pep Guardiola stepped down?
Plymouth Argyle sacks players on women’s team via email (The Guardian)
In what is utterly astounding news, Plymouth Argyle told the majority of its squad that their contracts were not being renewed…via email:
Plymouth Argyle have told the vast majority of their women’s first-team players their contracts will not be renewed this summer, the Guardian has learned, just weeks after they narrowly missed out on promotion to Women’s Super League 2.
In an email sent to almost all of the senior squad, Plymouth’s chief executive, Paul Berne, explained that the “difficult decision” to let the players go reflected “the direction of the squad for next season” and went on to thank them and offer them job references.
According to multiple sources, the club’s decision to let so many players go is primarily a financial one, coming amid plans to significantly reduce the women’s team’s playing budget in the summer. Plymouth were contacted for a comment in response on Sunday morning.
The news follows the resignation of the team’s head coach, Marie Hourihan, on 28 May, and it is believed that the club’s budget cuts were a contributing factor towards her decision to resign. The coach was understood to be popular with the players and the supporters.
Berne’s email said: “Hi all. Following our end-of-season review and planning for 2026-27, we wanted to let you know that we won’t be renewing contracts for the players included in this message.”
The email went on to say the decision was “not a lack of appreciation for the effort, commitment and professionalism you’ve shown” and expressed the club’s “gratitude for the time you’ve given Argyle”, before offering support to find new opportunities and wishing the players “all the very best moving forward”.
Aside of this being totally bush league, it shows a total lack of courage and also a club devoid of caring. Don’t give corporate America any ideas, either!
