Today, U.S. Soccer announced that they will host a free beach soccer doubleheader featuring the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Beach Soccer National Teams against Trinidad & Tobago on Venice Beach sands.
“Playing on home sand in Venice Beach is a special opportunity for our players and will be historic for this team,” said U.S. Beach WNT head coach Morgan Church. “We’re excited to bring together a talented roster that represents the growth and competitiveness of Beach Soccer in the United States. We are thrilled
to be tied into all the U.S. Soccer fan activity in Los Angeles around the World Cup before showcasing our discipline of the sport with an entertaining match for Beach Soccer fans on Sunday.”
“We are all very excited about the chance to play at home in front of our fans in a U.S. Soccer event,” said U.S. Beach MNT head coach Marcelo Mendes. “Opportunities like this are fantastic exposure for our game and we’re grateful to Volkswagen and the U.S. Soccer Federation for giving us this spotlight. We look forward to a strong few days of training as we continuing building towards World Cup qualification next year.”
On Sunday, June 21, the doubleheader will take place with stars participating including: two-time Beach Soccer Player of the Year Hannah Adler, captain and caps leader Jeané Sunseri-Warp, all-time caps leader Alessandro Canale, and 2024 Beach Soccer Player of the Year Antonio Chavez.
