The March 11 episode was the final Dynamite before AEW’s Revolution PPV this Sunday in Los Angeles. It’s first two hours were mostly spent on the in-ring action AEW’s known for. But for the standard overrun, they threw it to a semi-legitimate press conference being held backstage between Sunday’s main eventers: World champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman and challenger Hangman Adam Page.
In order to get MJF to agree to make their Revolution showdown a Texas Death Match — Page’s stipulation of choice, and
one that will allow him to pay Max back for his actions in this program and throughout their careers — Hangman agreed to never challenge for the AEW World title again if he loses. That meant fiery and emotional answers to what we assume were pre-arranged questions asked by the real members of the media assembled for a Bryan Danielson-hosted presser:
The San Jose, California crowd didn’t appreciate the innovation, and “Bullshit” chants could be heard from the Civic during this portion of things. Eventually, MJF called for some beers so the rivals could “salute” before the fight to the Texas Death. That meant throwing the beverage in Hanger’s face, and the brawl was on.
The Northern Cali faithful got some action (and they have a whole Collision taping coming too) when things immediately spilled into the arena:
But they’ll have to wait for Sunday to see the heel champ get Deadeye-d onto a barbed wire-covered board:
