Bayern Munich’s season starts this weekend with the opening Bundesliga match in Munich against RB Leipzig. Two players spoke with Sky Sports Germany (as reported by @iMiaSanMia) and shared their hot takes for this season in the preparation for Bayern’s match on Friday.
Konrad Laimer predicts that Bayern will score at least 100 goals this season. Bayern came close to 100 goals on in Robert Lewandowski’s record-breaking season in 2021-22, when the team scored 99 goals in the Bundesliga. The season record in the Bundesliga is 101
goals set by the Bayern squad of 1971/72. With Kane and Luis Diaz — the two goal scorers from last weekend’s Super Cup victory — give Bayern a good shot at hitting this goal, but missing Musiala for about half of the season, might put a damper on the chase for 100.
Speaking of Luis Diaz, Jonas Urbig has predicted that Lucho will be the Bundesliga player of the season. Last season’s Premier League champion had 13 goals and five assists with Liverpool. He may need to step up his output a bit for Urbig’s prediction to come true, but what we have seen so far form the aforementioned Super Cup, we as Bayern fans could be in for a treat with Lucho in Munich this year.
BFW hot take: I figured I would join Laimer and Urbig and give my hot take for the upcoming season too. Bayern’s bad form in the DFB-Pokal will continue this season. It has been five long agonizing seasons in the Pokal since Bayern last lifted the trophy as part of the Treble-winning season. Unfortunately, with the problems that Bayern have in their depth, I think prioritizing the Bundesliga and Champions League will cause a slip up in the Pokal again.
