Before the Kentucky Wildcats welcomed the No. 5 Florida Gators to Rupp Arena, we got a little bit of news on Kam Williams heading into next week’s SEC Tournament.
Williams did return to practice on Thursday, and Mark Pope gave a quick update on how that return went on the pregame radio segment:
“He was good. He had limited reps. He was pretty sore after, so we’re just in the process. It’s exactly what you would expect it to be, as he tries to recover,” Pope said of Williams.
Williams broke his foot
just over six weeks ago and is now looking at making a return to the floor for the Cats just in time for the start of the postseason.
How much of an impact would he have? Likely not a major one, as he’ll be shaking off some rust whenever he does play, but anytime you can add a solid shooter and an athletic defender this late in the season, you absolutely take it.
Here’s to hoping Williams plays well and avoids any kind of re-injury heading into the offseason.
