As expected, Las Vegas Raiders superstar tight end Brock Bowers will practice Wednesday as the team begins, in earnest, its preparations for Sunday’s road game at the New Orleans Saints.
Bowers missed the first two games of the season, both Raiders’ victories, after having knee surgery 15 days ago. Bowers was limited in practice Friday and worked out prior to the Chargers’ game Sunday, but was inactivated Raiders’ coach Klint Kubiak said after the game Bowers was “very close” to being ready to play.
The plan since then was for Bowers to practice Wednesday.
Still, when talking to reporters Wednesday morning, Kubiak stopped short of declaring that Bowers will be ready to play at New Orleans The coach said Bowers is still day-to-day and eh will be evaluated throughout the week. Still, barring any setbacks, it seems like Bowers should be able to make his season debut Sunday.
Meanwhile, Kubiak said “we’ll see” when asked if cornerback Darien Porter would practice Wednesday. Also, rookie safety Treydan Stukes is in the concussion protocol and is not known how far he’s progressed.
