The Buffalo Bills continued their 0ffseason workout program Tuesday with the start of the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp, with every player in attendance for the session at the team’s practice facility.
Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by recapping the first day of mandatory minicamp, including how safety Cole Bishop (pictured below) and linebacker Dorian Williams are battling injuries and how defensive end Michael Hoecht was back in action as he works his way back from an Achilles
injury.

LB Dorian Williams dealing with another ailment
While every member of the team was present for mandatory minicamp, a few were non-participants. That list includes linebacker Dorian Williams, wide receiver Skyler Bell, safety Cole Bishop, right tackle Spencer Brown, wide receive Tyrell Shavers, and defensive back Dorian Strong.
First-year head coach Joe Brady said the team is confident Williams, who was spotted using crutches, will be back on the practice field in time for the start of training camp next month.
“I feel like he’s in a good place, and I anticipate him being there,” Brady said of Williams’ availability for training camp, adding that Bishop has been “in and out” of team practices this spring.
“He’s kind of rolling with it, but he’s in a really good head space,” Brady said of Bishop. “It’s unique for guys right now — it’s like we want everybody to be out there, but I want everybody out there for training camp, too.”
Among the other observations from the opening day of mandatory minicamp: defensive end Michael Hoecht (pictured below) was back on the practice field after tearing his Achilles last year; as was starting left tackle Dion Dawkins, who made his first practice appearance after sitting out Organized Team Activities (and also caused a stir when discussing a potential reunion with former wide receiver Stefon Diggs).
Brady also met with the media following the session, saying he’s “really pleased” with how the players have progressed over the offseason.
“Everybody’s here. We’ve had great attendance this whole offseason. I’m really pleased with our just the way the guys are competing, and excited for these next couple days,” he said.
The Bills are back on the practice field Wednesday afternoon at 2:15 p.m.
