Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal for Karim Adeyemi to swap the Bundesliga side for the Camp Nou in a deal worth up to €29 million.
The Catalans will pay a €22m fixed fee and an extra €9m in add-ons which are considered to be highly achievable. Dortmund have also inserted a sell-on clause into the transfer but there are conflicting numbers flying about.
Sky’s Patrik Berger says the sell-on clause is 35% but reports in Spain claim it’s 20%.
There’s also a bit of detail about Adeyemi’s
salary. The winger will earn €6m net per season at Barcelona and is set to pen a five-year contract with the Catalans.
Adeyemi is Barcelona’s second signing of the summer transfer window but is not expected to be the last. The Catalans remain keen to bring in Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid and are expected to bid for the Argentina international again after the World Cup.
Joao Cancelo is also expected to join on a permanent transfer from Al-Hilal, following a successful loan spell. There was also speculation Barca would sign a defender earlier in the transfer window but such talk has since gone quiet.
