New York Giants defensive end Brian Burns is on the road to recovery after tearing his ACL in the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Burns played in just 25 defensive snaps against the Titans before going down with the injury. Now, his season is coming to an end after recording just four tackles in three games for the team. It’s a big loss for the Giants, who signed Burns to a five-year, $141 million contract ahead of the 2024 season.

in all 17 games in each of his first two seasons with Big Blue. He also made the Pro Bowl last season and was on the All-Pro second team.
This only adds to the mountain of injuries the Giants are already dealing with this season, headlined by quarterback Jaxson Dart, who also suffered a knee injury in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams and won’t return this season.
If there’s any silver lining for the Giants, it’s that they have a deep pass rush rotation. Even though Burns is out, the team can rely on former top-5 pick Kayvon Thibodeau to fill that role. He’ll be joined by Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, on the other end.
The team also has Tremaine Edmunds and rookie top-5 pick Arvell Reese in the middle, giving the team a high ceiling for the linebacker corps.
