What is the story about?
The Falcons will open their 2026 training camp with one functioning quarterback — Jack Strand. Kevin Stefanski told the media prior to Day 1 of training camp that Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with an injury and isn’t currently able to fully participate in practice.
Michael Penix hasn’t been medically cleared to play following last season’s knee injury and reconstructive surgery. Trevor Siemian was released Wednesday morning with an injury settlement.
A QB signing is definitely coming (word on the street
suggests it’ll be Cooper Rush), and Stefanski did say the injury Tagovailoa is dealing with is minor. He referred to it as a “flare-up” and not something serious. He should not miss much time, per Stefanski.
