The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report of the week on Wednesday in advance of their Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Note that this report is an estimation because the team held a walkthrough in lieu of a normal practice.
The Eagles listed six players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: DeVonta Smith, Zack Baun, Dallas Goedert, Will Shipley, Hollywood Brown, and Fred Johnson.
Smith did not practice on Thursday last week before ramping up to limited on Friday and full go on Saturday
before playing against the Chicago Bears. Perhaps he’ll follow a similar path this week as the Eagles look to manage his hamstring injury. If Smith can’t play, well, that’s a big problem.
Baun is a new addition to the report with a concussion. He’ll have to be cleared before he can return to the field. If Baun can’t suit up, look for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to start in his place.
Goedert was always expected to miss multiple games, so, the Eagles will probably be without their top tight end again this weekend. Perhaps we’ll see Zach Ertz’s playing time increase in his second game back with the Birds.
Shipley is dealing with a foot injury that caused him to miss last Thursday’s practice before being limited on Friday and Saturday. He was able to play against the Bears. We’ll see if he’s able to ramp up in practice over the next two days.
Brown and Johnson were unexpectedly added to the injury report after apparently getting banged up in practice last week. Until they return, one must assume they might not be able to suit up.
The Eagles listed three players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Moro Ojomo, Jordan Davis, and Jihaad Campbell.
All three players are new additions to the report.
Ojomo is listed with calf and elbow injuries.
Davis is dealing with a calf injury.
Campbell is dealing with a knee injury.
Being listed as limited is better than being listed under DNP. These guys might be able to play against the Rams.
The Eagles listed five players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Jonathan Greenard, Jalen Carter, Darius Cooper, Tank Bigsby, and Byron Young.
Good to see Greenard was full go once again, just like he was on Saturday before playing on Monday. The Eagles need him to be able to handle a bigger workload … and soon.
Carter’s injury is limiting his ability to function normally and handle his usual workload.
Cooper is listed with a knee injury.
Bigsby missed some practice time last week with an abdomen injury.
Young is a new addition to the report with a toe injury.
