Fabio Grosso’s gift to Fiorentina on its 100th birthday is 5 new starters from the group that got mollywhopped by Roma last week, including 3 in defense: Víctor Valdepeñas, Marin Pongračić, Alex Jimenez, Christ Inao Oulaï, and Albert Guðmundsson step into the XI, while Moise Kean watches from the stands. It also looks like a change in shape to a 4-3-3, although it could at times more closely resemble the 4-4-2 we’ve seen up to this point. Frosinone boss Massimiliano Alvini has made a couple changes
as well, bringing in Anthony Oyono and Patrick Masini.
Construction notwithstanding, the Artemio Franchi looks appropriately festive. The fans are out in force, the Curva’s preparing a massive tifo, and the stadium’s packed with Viola luminaries from the past century. Despite the uncertainty on the pitch, the vibes around the club are great right now. Be a real shame if Frosinone had to do something silly and ruin them.
