A pair of New England Patriots have been voted to the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.
Quarterback Drake Maye and cornerback Christian Gonzalez got the call on Wednesday morning, the NFL announced.
Maye, 23, joins the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen and Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert on the AFC quarterback depth chart. Thus far into a 12-3, playoff-bound season, the sophomore team captain has completed 321-of-453 passes for 3,947 passing yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Coming of a career-high 380 yards through the air, he ranks first in the league with a 70.9 completion percentage and third with a 108.5 passer rating.
An additional 387 yards and four touchdowns have arrived as a rusher for Maye. The former North Carolina Tar Heel, taken with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, previously served as rookie Pro Bowl alternate.
Gonzalez, 23, accompanies the Houston Texans’ Derek Stingley Jr., Denver Broncos’ Pat Surtain II and Cleveland Browns’ Denzel Ward in the AFC cornerback room. Since returning from a hamstring injury for the final game of September, he has made 12 starts and stayed in for 692 defensive snaps. A total of 61 tackles and 10 passes defensed have arrived along the way.
A second-team All-Pro in 2024, it marks the first Pro Bowl nod for Gonzalez, who stands 32 to starts into his time in Foxborough. By way of Colorado and Oregon, the No. 17 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft has recorded one sack, three interceptions and returned a fumble for a 63-yard touchdown during his tenure.
The consensus votes of fans, players and coaches determined the selections. And this year, all-purpose Patriots nickelback, punt returner and captain Marcus Jones finds himself a notable omission after earning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week and AFC Defensive Player of the Month honors to go with a contract extension.
With an 8 p.m. ET kickoff for flag football, the 2026 Pro Bowl Games will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Moscone Center South Building San Francisco leading up to Super Bowl LX. Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Steve Young will serve as coaches for the NFC and AFC, respectively.
Until then, Pro Bowl selections are set to wear silver trophy decals on the back of their helmets and will be honored as captains during Week 17 games and for the remainder of the season.
