The Guardians have won the AL Central for the 14th time and third straight year.
Zack Meisel had a nice article about the division win, including an interesting note about an advantage the Mets found against them in August as they heard pitch calls through Nathaniel Lowe’s Pitch Com. Meisel also had a more introspective piece on the guys who got the Guardians to this point.
It will be fun to see the hangover lineup today. I would guess Jose, Rocchio and DeLauter get the break today. We will see who
else does. Parker Messick will start but I imagine he will throw about three innings.

The AL West race comes down to today. If the Astros beat the A’s, they are in. If they lose and the Rangers also lose to the Twins, they are in. The last NL Wildcard comes down to today. If the Phillies beat the Rays, they are in. If they lose and the Diamondbacks lose to the Padres, they are in. But, the Diamondbacks would be in with a win and a Phillies loss.
