Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his first press conference of the 2025 regular season on Tuesday, and he opened it up by giving a brief injury report.
Tomlin officially classified rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon as out vs. the New York Jets. The Steelers’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft suffered a sprained MCL in the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. That said, based on Harmon’s initial reaction, many assumed the worst for the injury, so the sprain ended
up being a sigh of relief.
Tomlin also classified edge rusher Nick Herbig as questionable, but noted he’s been doing good work and that his participation throughout the week would be decided if he plays on Sunday.
Tomlin also noted that Calvin Austin won’t have any limitations and that Harmon and Herbig were the only two players with injuries of note.
