1. VALENTÍN BARCO (5.4)
At the end of the day, no one played well in this game, certainly in the second half, but earlier in the game, we did seem to finally have at least a semblance of a midfield, and that was largely thanks to the energetic Barco, making his first Premier League start (and the veteran Jordan Henderson, making his first Chelsea start and appearance … incidentally against his former team).
Barco’s only real shortcoming seems to be just his physical size, but he’s able to play bigger (most of the time) and
be effective still.
2. COLE PALMER (5.4)
When in doubt, vote Cole Palmer.
3. PEP CHAVARRÍA (5.3)
Another smaller player able to play bigger with his tenacity. Did well enough for his first Premier League start. If he squares the ball for Rogers early in the second half with the match still scoreless instead of going for the less likely shot, we might’ve had a different outcome in this one.
