The Royals are unbeaten in five and are looking to once again try and get into the playoffs. Although a few of the draws should have been wins, the last game against Bradford City gave back some good karma Reading deserved. Two late, late goals secured the win for the Royals, putting them one victory away from the top six.
Luton Town are in 10th currently, with their last league game being a 1-1 draw at Port Vale. The Hatters are looking to push for promotion themselves, having been relegated from
the Championship last year, but they have found it a lot harder to make as much of an impact as they thought they would have.
The head-to-head between the sides is in Reading’s favour, with 27 wins, 11 draws and 24 defeats. The last game between the sides finished 3-2 to the Royals, with Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan getting the winner.

Players to watch out for
In this part I will name two players from each side who I think are going to make a big impact in this one. Let’s start with what I know and name some Reading players.
Benn Ward has been one hell of a signing. He is quality and I actually think he will be a massive player for the club in the upcoming years.
At the back with Derrick Williams and Paudie O’Connor, he has been outstanding. Ward knows what he’s doing, is calm on the ball, and games seem to go backwards when Leam Richardson takes him off.
I was at Port Vale and the contest completely changed when he came off. Although Jeriel Dorsett had a good last 20, Ward was my player of the match in that one. I think in this game he will get an assist, as well as a strong defensive performance.
Sean Patton is one who I think will start. He had a great time on loan at Aldershot, scoring six goals in five games, and with Jack Marriott injured, I think he will get a place in the XI and a goal.
He reminds me of Shane Long: a poacher and, with the ball at his feet, he can create chances out of nowhere. I think he can make a good impact while Marriott is injured.
Now onto Luton.
Davy Van Den Berg is on loan from FC Utrecht. He made nine appearances for Utrecht, scoring once, and has made a decent impact for the Hatters since his arrival in January.
I think he will make an assist in this one and could provide some key passes to create a goal for the home side.
Finally, Nahki Wells, who I have a love-hate relationship with.
He was my favourite card on FIFA back in the day, I watched him play at Bristol City and he was OK, scoring against Reading almost every time we met, and then was so close to signing for Reading this year – Luton sniped in and stole him off us.
He failed to score in the reverse fixture but I think he will find the net in this one. He has made 20 appearances against Reading in his career, scoring seven times. I hate and love him at the same time for different reasons and I hope he doesn’t do anything against us, but I have a feeling he will.
My lineup
Joel Pereira will start in goal.
Andy Yiadom, O’Connor, Derrick Williams, Ward and Randell Williams will be the defence.
Lewis Wing, Charlie Savage and Kamari Doyle will be the midfield.
Ehibhatiomhan and Patton will make up the attack.
Score prediction: 2-1 Reading!
Good luck to those who are going to the game!
Come on you Royals!
