San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is questionable to play versus the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series at the Moda Center Friday night, the Spurs announced.
Wembanyama exited during the second quarter of Portland’s 106-103 win in Game 2. While driving to the basket, Wembanyama hit his head on the ground and suffered a concussion before heading straight back to the locker room.
Spurs forward Harrison Barnes, who also exited Game 2 early due to a shoulder issue,
is available to play Friday. He didn’t appear on Thursday’s injury report in any capacity.
On the Trail Blazers’ side, star Damian Lillard remains out for Game 3 due to his torn left Achilles.
After Thursday’s practice, Blazers acting head coach Tiago Splitter didn’t unequivocally rule out Lillard returning during this series, which caused a small stir from hopeful Rip City fans on social media. However, if there’s going to be an unexpected, movie-like return from the Blazers legend, it’s going to have to wait at least a few more days.
Tipoff for Game 3 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PDT.
