The New York Giants will host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9 looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Philadelphia. According to early odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, the 49ers are favored by
2.5 points. The over/under (total points) is set around 46.5 points.
The Giants (2–6) are reeling after a lopsided defeat to the Eagles, which exposed both offensive and defensive shortcomings. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart continues to show flashes but remains inconsistent, and the Giants’ backfield was dealt a blow with the loss of rookie running back Cam Skattebo to a ankle injury.
The 49ers (5–3) enter on uneven footing themselves as they’ve alternated wins and losses after a strong start. Their offense has had difficulty converting yards into points, especially with quarterback uncertainty.
What it means for the Giants
A win would be significant: it could help halt the skid, boost confidence, and make November look less grim for New York. A loss, however, could push the Giants further out of the playoff picture.
The 49ers possess one of the more balanced rosters in the league when healthy and clicking. They’ll be looking to take advantage of a Giants squad that is vulnerable in multiple phases.
