Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Browns fans and fans across the country.
With how bad the Cleveland Browns were to open the season, I wasn’t in the mood to ask whether the team would beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend, as I feared the results would be around 1% for the Browns winning. Instead, much like head coach Todd Monken did when talking about Deshaun Watson’s performance, I’m handling the situation
with kid gloves.
Our question this week simply asks if you expect the Browns to turn in a better performance against the Buccaneers. Your choices are either Yes, that we’ll be more competitive, or No, that the team is just flat out horrible. If we think back to Kevin Stefanski’s first season as head coach, he was blown out in the opening weekend by the Ravens 38-6, only to rip off four straight wins. It’s not unheard of for a team to turn things around after a big egg in the opener, and we have learned some positive things about the team’s wide receiver and offensive line performances in Week 1.
Will the Browns be better in Week 2?
Additionally, we’re also asking our weekly confidence poll below. I’m sure the number will plummet from the 55% of the opening week, but maybe you are mentally able to put the quarterback situation aside and be confident based on other elements (although that doesn’t address how bad the defense was…).
