Bay FC will transfer Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala to Al Hilal in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, the club announced on Tuesday morning.
Oshoala first signed with the Bay area team in 2024, when the club joined the NWSL as an expansion team. She leaves Bay FC as the club’s top goal-scorer with seven goals scored in the 2024 regular season.
“Asisat has been an incredibly important part of Bay FC history, not only with her impact on the pitch but also through the energy, professionalism, and kindness
she brought every day,” said Bay FC Sporting Director Matt Potter.
“She is a world-class player and an even better person, and we are grateful for everything she contributed to our club in its first season. We wish her nothing but success as she takes this next step in her career with Al-Hilal,” said Potter.
Before signing with Bay FC, Oshoala played with FC Barcelona in Liga F in Spain. She won two UEFA Women’s Champions’ League titles with Barcelona, and was named Women’s African Footballer of the Year six times.
As part of the Nigerian women’s national team, the Super Falcons, she helped lead her country to a victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations this past July.
However, 3-year-old Oshoala fell out of a starting spot with Bay FC in 2025, and has only played 458 minutes. She has played in 12 matches this season and started five.
