The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Thursday that linebacker T.J. Watt was in the hospital after experiencing lung discomfort.
“T.J. Watt is currently in a local hospital for further medical evaluation of his lung after experiencing discomfort at the practice facility on Wednesday,” the team said in a statement. “He will not be at practice on Thursday, and his status for Monday night’s game vs. Miami is in question. Coach Tomlin will provide more updates at the appropriate time.”
It has now been revealed
that the injury took place when Watt was receiving treatment at the team facility.
Sources: T.J. Watt’s lung injury occurred during treatment at the team facility Wednesday,“ ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. ”Watt has been hospitalized since then.“
This sounds very similar to what happened to Tyrod Taylor in 2020, which led to the impromptu debut of Justin Herbert against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Watt’s status for Monday night against the Miami Dolphins is in question.
