TNA is hot coming off Bound For Glory. Instead of following up with a regular episode of Impact (Oct. 16, 2025), TNA went a different direction for the After The Glory special without any fresh matches.
Tom Hannifan and “Drama King” Matthew Rehwoldt hosted a studio show to air PPV highlights and interview the stars of TNA. All that to say there wasn’t much in terms of storylines this week.
The best part of the show was Leon Slater beaming down from a UFO.
TNA touched on DarkState ruining the epic match between Slater and Je’Von Evans for the X-Division Championship at Bound For Glory. They aired scenes from NXT to explain that this was roundabout payback to the Hardys. Slater is an honorary Hardy brother, and Evans is from North Carolina, which is home to the Hardys.
So, yeah. This explanation makes that terrible booking decision stink even worse. The finish from Slater versus Evans was complete crap.
Moving on to title matches between TNA and NXT.
The Hardys are set to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against DarkState at Halloween Havoc on October 25.
Slater will defend the X-Division Championship against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo next week on NXT television. Per the request of his daughter, Santino Marella did his future son-in-law a solid to book that match.
That’s pretty much it on the storyline front this week.
Next week, TNA airs the Fade to Black special, which is a behind-the-scenes look at Bound For Glory.
