The Dallas Mavericks (2-3) “host” the Detroit Pistons (3-2) in Mexico City for the Saturday night late game on Peacock. Both Dallas and the Pistons are entering this game having won on Wednesday night. The Mavericks escaped the Indiana Pacers in a rock fight while the Pistons beat the tar out of the Orlando Magic.
Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Detroit Pistons
- WHAT: Another win, please.
- WHERE: Arena CDMX, Mexico City, Mexico
- WHEN: 9:00 p.m. CST
- HOW: Peacock
The injury report sucks for Dallas. Kyrie Irving is out as is Dante Exum, but you knew that. Anthony Davis is out for at least
two games with a calf strain, but as we know from Luka Doncic’s issues, it’s not an injury you want to rush along. Dereck Lively is out and didn’t even make the trip. Daniel Gafford is listed as questionable, which is an upgrade from doubtful; he has an ankle sprain he’s dealt with since day one of training camp. The Pistons are without Jaden Ivey and Marcus Sasser is questionable.
Here’s the longer game preview and then I very much enjoyed this piece by Brent about the Mavericks deciding to retire Mark Aguirre’s jersey. The betting piece should be out as well, but I’m writing this the night before. I’m already tired of the Mavericks as we’re seeing them.
As you can tell below, you can join me in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
