The Miami Dolphins will host the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday at Hard Rock stadium, but despite the impending clash against Joe Burrow and company, general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is not done tweaking the team’s roster.
On Friday, the Miami Dolphins announced that they had claimed running back Kaytron Allen off waivers. Allen — a 6th round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders — was waived this week when Washington added veteran tailback, Austin Ekeler to their squad. He was not
jobless for long, as Sullivan made Allen the newest Miami roster addition this afternoon.
Allen played in all four Commanders games this season — totaling 41 yards on 12 carries. He added 29 snaps on special teams.
During his four seasons at Penn State, Allen amassed 4,180 yards rushing on 769 attempts (5.4 yards per carry) and 39 rushing scores. The 5’11”, 216 lb back added 70 receptions for 490 receiving yards and four touchdowns through the air.
During the preseason, Allen rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins when the two teams faced off in the exhibition contest — likely a performance that impressed his new general manager, Sullivan. Allen will look for playing time behind Miami’s new backfield starter, Ollie Gordon II, and the banged up Jaylen Wright.
