It’s been a whirlwind year for Victor Muñoz, from last season’s breakout at Osasuna to getting called up to the senior Spanish national team for the first time just in time for the World Cup to getting a move to Liverpool and the Premier League.
Even if he’s still working his way into the mix at his new club, the early signs have been promising and he was again called up by Spain for the most recent international break and got onto the pitch against Serbia in the most recent Nations League match for his country.
“I think the fact all this has happened so quickly doesn’t give me time to really process it,” he said when asked about his career trajectory going back to the start of last season. “But I think it’s good, obviously, for both me and my family.
“You just try to enjoy every moment and every stage, and the truth is that now I am in a good moment, both with Liverpool and here in the national team and I’m just focused on the next game. I just try to work every day to contribute, do my bit, to try to improve.”
Muñoz and Spain face Czechia on Saturday before closing out the extended international break with a second match against Croatia on Tuesday before the winger returns to Liverpool ahead of their clash with £900M cheats Manchester City.
