According to a report from Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), there are several other big clubs in the running for PSV Eindhoven attacker Ismael Saibari. However, the 25-year-old would prefer to move to Bayern Munich. The only obstacle continues to be the transfer fee and to this point, we do not know how far apart the clubs are:
There are other clubs from all top leagues interested in Ismael Saibari, but the Moroccan is eager to join Bayern. It’s his preferred
destination. Bayern have been scouting him for years – and have now identified him as a transfer target for a few weeks. Bayern want to close the deal before the World Cup. If necessary, Saibari would undergo a medical in the US, where he is with the Moroccan national team.
The main hurdle is agreeing a fee between the clubs. Bayern does not want to pay too much, nor does PSV want to receive too little. Nevertheless, there’s a good relationship between both clubs. PSV would be happy to see Saibari join a top club, but want to be compensated properly. It could still take some time, but a positive outcome is likely if all parties show a certain degree of reasonableness.
It would have been helpful to know which other clubs want Saibari. A cursory search shows that Arsenal was interested in Saibari in January of this year and Paris Saint-Germain was linked to the attacker in 2024. Regardless, this transfer seems to be coming down to what number Bayern Munich has associated with the player in terms of value. Will PSV Eindhoven’s target figure meet Bayern Munich’s number…or will the Bavarians walk away from the table like they did with Gordon and are alleged to have done with Hertha Berlin’s Kennet Eichhorn?
