From a Week 8 matchup that could have put the Cleveland Browns at the top of the AFC North and in prime position for the playoffs, to a Week 9 game that could include a change at quarterback and the team as underdogs against the 2-5 New Orleans Saints. What a huge swing in a short amount of time.
Fans already have some strong thoughts about QB Deshaun Watson possibly being out with a concussion and what it will look like with QB Shedeur Sanders taking his place:
While the official injury report will
not be out until this afternoon, Sanders and company could be without a few key players on both sides of the ball, based on the pre-practice report. Alongside Watson, three other starters will not be practicing on Wednesday:
- OL Austin Barber (Calf)
- DT Maliek Collins (Elbow)
- LB Quincy Williams (Hamstring)
Given Collins and Williams’ veteran status, practice is less vital. For Barber, especially with the potential of a new starting quarterback, how quickly he is able to practice could be huge. Former Browns guard Wyatt Teller dealt with calf injuries quite often, with differing timelines for his ability to play.
HC Todd Monken noted that none of the four starters have been ruled out for Sunday’s contest.
Which of the four do you think would create the biggest problem if they were out due to injury on Sunday?
