Jon Jones is once again traveling the world living his best life, and he’s in the mood to offer up some interesting ideas for future fights.
Earlier this year, Jones traveled to Thailand to film Russian
TUF clone Alf Reality. Now he’s in Chechnya with Khamzat Chimaev, and a trip there would not be complete without visiting the country’s leader and U.S. sanctioned war criminal Ramzan Kadyrov.
“I’m signing a major ambassador deal here in Russia I can’t announce yet, soon I’ll be a regular,” Jones explained on X (formerly Twitter). “It was awesome. I was invited by the president Kadyrov! I spent a day celebrating his son’s 18th birthday, got to shoot exotic weapons, my favorite was the RPG. Was never served so much food, ate like a king.”
As for the many accusations against Kadyrov?
“I don’t know anything, I don’t see anything,” Jones wrote. “All I know is the man’s a great host.”
The impromtu Q&A with fans quickly turned to a potential White House fight with Alex Pereira.
“It’s a little bit out of my hands,” Jones said of the fight. “I’m getting in shape, I’m lean and completely capable of hopping into a training camp. I guess time will tell. Either way life is good.”
He certainly sounded extremely flexible. When asked if he’d be willing to co-headline the event, Jones responded “Absolutely!”
“Bones” hasn’t fought outside of the main event since 2011, and we can’t imagine Pereira vs. Jones would be anything but the main event. But there’s the rub: UFC CEO Dana White refused to consider Jones for that position, given Jon’s history of blowing up cards.
There may be something unexpected coming down the road as well.
“I was approached the other day about grappling [Daniel Cormier] for charity,” Jones tweeted. “I said absolutely. Let’s see what comes of it. 3-0.”
