The Buffalo Bills were the first NFL team to get to 3-0 on Thursday night, and while some have joined them on Sunday, the Bills are sitting very pretty right now. Only two AFC teams are 3-0 right now and the late afternoon result from the Los Angeles Chargers could make it three. But that’s it. The Bills are at least a game free of the rest of the AFC.
AFC East standings after Week 3
The Buffalo Bills are clearly the class of the division and the only team with a winning record and the only team that won in Week 3. They are also
2-0 in the division already for an early tiebreaker. Buffalo has a two-game lead in the division early.
1. Buffalo Bills (3-0)
2. New England Patriots (1-2)
3. New York Jets (0-3)
4. Miami Dolphins (0-3)
AFC playoff standings during Week 3
The Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts both entered Week 3 at 2-0, but only one won. The Bengals were routed by the Minnesota Vikings while the Colts destroyed Tennessee Titans. The Bills and Colts are atop the conference.
The Kansas City Chiefs play Sunday night, but entered the weekend at 0-2, 2.5 games back from the Bills. At best, the Chiefs are two games behind the Bills in the AFC and they’re tied for last place in their own division.
The Bills obviously have a tiebreaker over the Baltimore Ravens thanks to the Week 1 result. The Ravens play the Detroit Lions on Monday night.
The Houston Texans, who we thought might run away with the AFC South, are 0-3 after a dismal loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
