It’s Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! With the untimely end of the Yankees season now more than a week and a half behind us, we begin to settle into what looks to be a long, long, loooooong winter. The offseason doesn’t mean that life stops, however, and this week, we have a jam-packed social media roundup. And so, without further ado, let’s get started!
Jorge is selling a boat
Our lead story today is, uh, a rather unusual one. Former Yankees catcher Jorge Posada
took to Instagram to solicit offers to buy his boat. So, uh…yea, if you have a lot of money and are looking to buy a boat, here’s your chance.
Some More Post-Mortems
We included a first round of end-of-season social media posts last week. Since then, more players have taken to Instagram to reflect on the year.
The Running Man
Former Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo ran in the Chicago marathon last week, alongside former teammate Jake Arrieta. While not pictured here, Aaron Judge was in attendance to support his friend.
Manny Being Manny
Manny Ramirez may not be a popular player in New York, as he time and time again demolished the Yankees during his playing days as a member of the Red Sox. Recently, though, he revealed an interest in returning to baseball as a coach, and the Washington Heights native posted a video of himself in a batting cage this week sporting the interlocking NY of the Yankees. Does this mean anything? Probably not — but still, something worth pointing out.
Fall Festivals
Suzyn Waldman may wish that she was still calling Yankees games this late in October, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying the fall.
Celebrity Sighting
Apparently, Dua Lipa was at Game 3 of the ALDS (alongside husband/actor Callum Turner), her first-ever Yankees game. While it was a rather disappointing one for her to attend, at least she seemed to enjoy herself.
The Pride of Somerset
The Somerset Patriots, as always, take great pride in the big league performance of their former players; this week, they celebrated the season totals of Yankees breakout star Ben Rice, who hit 41 homers this season — and then went on to hit even better in October.
