Indiana football is set to take on Miami in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The Hoosiers haven’t been without their share of injuries this season but have held up well through their playoff run. Here’s what you need to know from Friday’s official availability report.
Indiana football injury report: vs Miami
OUT
- DL Stephen Daley
- DL Kellan Wyatt
- DL Andrew DePaepe
- DB Jah Jah Boyd
- DB Amariyun Knighten
- DB Bryson Bonds
- RB Lee Beebe Jr.
QUESTIONABLE
- K Brendan Franke
There’s no surprises here for Indiana. The Hoosiers have been without Daley, Wyatt, Bonds and Beebe Jr. due to season-ending injuries suffered
during the regular season with the exception of Wyatt, who was injured following Indiana’s win in the Big Ten championship game. Other players like DePaepe, Boyd and Knighten are likely unavailable due to having entered the transfer portal.
Curt Cignetti previously said every player who saw action against Oregon in the Peach Bowl will be available for the national championship after a few players were hobbling against the Ducks.
Franke is one to watch. As Indiana’s kickoff specialist, he has the strongest available leg and hit a long field goal for the Hoosiers against Oregon during the regular season. He’s been listed as probable, questionable and out during Indiana’s playoff run, being listed as probable in the first two Rose Bowl reports before downgrading to questionable in the third and out on gameday. He was listed as out on the initial Peach Bowl availability report before upgrading to doubtful in the next two and was listed as a game time decision on gameday.
