Can Kentucky Basketball’s season be saved?
It’s a tough question.
On one hand, we still haven’t seen this team fully healthy, and there are talented players on the roster. On paper, this team should be a lot
better than what it has been.
But on the other hand, this team has flaws that I’m not really sure they can overcome. Guys like Mo Dioubate and Jayden Quaintance aren’t going to solve this team’s shooting issues, and maybe Jaland Lowe can be a difference-maker at the point guard position, but we haven’t seen it yet this season.
That’s not to mention the chemistry, body language and effort issues we’ve seen so far this season. This team lacks leadership, and the players many expected to be leaders have been the ones showing the poor body language and effort.
So can this Kentucky team save its season? Anything is possible, but right now, it’s hard to see that happening and we’re heading toward a season in which Kentucky misses the NCAA Tournament in a year they were expected to make a deep run.
In other news, we’ll learn who will be in the College Football Playoff today.
All eyes are on Alabama, Notre Dame, and Miami. Two of those three teams will make the field, but who will be left out? Will the committee put in a three-loss Alabama team over a Notre Dame or Miami team with two losses?
It seems like the top four seeds will be Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, and Ohio State. Oregon, with Will Stein as OC, will probably come in as the 5-seed and host its opening round playoff game.
The selection show gets underway at noon today.
