Villanova is officially back in the NCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats heard their names called during the second bracket release during the Selection Show on Sunday night. Shortly after, the first-round odds were released.
Villanova landed an eight seed in the West Region. It will take on Utah State in San Diego on Friday as a slight underdog.

Villanova enters the tournament with a record of 24-8. The Wildcats
landed the No. 3 seed in the Big East Tournament after a 15-5 slate in conference play. They were eliminated in the quarterfinal round by Georgetown.
Head coach Kevin Willard has led Villanova back to the big dance in year one on the sideline. He will look to build upon a 71-39 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament by Villanova. This includes seven Final Four appearances and three national titles. The Wildcats were last in the tournament in 2022 when Jay Wright led his team to the national semifinal in his final year as head coach.
The Wildcats was paired with Utah State in round one. The Aggies are 28-6 to this point after winning the Mountain West regular season and conference tournament titles. These two teams have just one prior meeting. It was a 73-72 Utah State win during the 1960 NIT at Madison Square Garden.
