Fermin Lopez admitted Barcelona found it tough going against Slavia Prague after coming from behind to win 4-2 in the Champions League.
The midfielder was the star of the show for Hansi Flick’s side, scoring twice in the first half, and said he knew it would be a difficult game.
“We knew it was going to be a tough match with the cold, the pitch, they pressed hard, it was difficult for us. We managed to come back, they came back against us, then we came back again and won. It’s very difficult to play
here, your feet and hands hurt… but that’s no excuse, we played a good match and got the victory,” he told the media.
“I try to take advantage of the manager’s opportunities, help the team, we did a great job and we deserved it. I hope there will be many more MVP awards, I’m very happy about this and about the victory. We knew goal difference was important, we wanted to keep a clean sheet, it was complicated, but we got the victory.”
The victory was marred by an injury to Pedri, with Lopez hoping it’s not a serious problem.
“I haven’t spoken with Pedri, he felt some discomfort in his hamstring and we’ll wait for the tests to see what it is. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, and we won’t lose him for long,” he added.
Flick also said he wasn’t sure about the severity of the injury, with the midfielder now set to undergo tests. Keep your fingers crossed.
