The Philadelphia Eagles will be on the road against the Bears for a Week 3 Monday Night Football matchup and an already bad quarterback situation just got even worse for Chicago. It was originally reported that Caleb Williams is week-to-week with a hamstring injury and is expected to miss Monday’s game, and now we learned that his backup, Tyson Bagent, is in the concussion protocol. If Bagent isn’t cleared in time, the Bears will turn to Case Keenum* to lead their offense.
Keenum’s career has spanned seven teams in 14 years, but the QB hasn’t seen playing time since the 2023 season for the Texans. Still, he’s been in Chicago since the 2025 offseason, so he obviously has familiarity with their offense.
The Bears will likely rely even more on the ground game, led by former Eagles running back D’Andre Swift. Swift signed a contract extension at the beginning of the season and has been rewarding the team for that deal in the two games since. He’s someone the Eagles defense will need to be extra aware of, but at least they’ll have some insight into Swift’s tendencies and talent.
Vic Fangio’s group has their own issues to sort out ahead of Monday night’s game, but they should at least have some kind of advantage over a team that’s potentially starting their third-string quarterback.
