Baltimore Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins was carted off the practice field at training camp on Tuesday after appearing to injure his left leg.
Wiggins went down after a 1-on-1 rep against rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. Both players were sprinting down the left sideline for a deep pass from Lamar Jackson with Wiggins going to the ground after the ball fell incomplete. He looked to be in considerable pain as team trainers rushed over with the cart following shortly after. He could not put much,
if any, weight on his left leg as he went inside the Ravens’ facility.
Head coach Jesse Minter did not offer any details regarding the nature or severity of the injury after practice, but expressed “optimism” regarding Wiggins and “a lot of confidence” in the rest of the team’s cornerback room.
Wiggins, 22, revealed this offseason that he did not feel 100% during his first two NFL seasons. The 2024 first-round pick underwent groin surgery a few months ago and said last week that he was “feeling the best I have ever felt.”
This is a breaking story that will be updated with more information.
