Francis Marshall fell short at the scale for UFC Vegas 123.
The featherweight was the lone fighter to miss weight for Saturday’s event, coming in at 148 pounds at Friday’s official weigh-ins. Marshall missed the non-title limit by two pounds.
It is not yet known if Marshall’s bout with Dakota Hope will proceed as a catchweight and, if so, what percentage of his purse will be forfeited as penalty. Hope steps in on less than a month’s notice as a replacement for Gaston Bolanos, who withdrew due to an eye
injury.
Lightweight headliners Renato Moicano and Tom Nolan were two of the earliest fighters to step to the scale and both successfully made weight, with Moicano registering at 156 pounds and Nolan at 155.5. Moicano looks to build on a main event win over Chris Duncan this past April, while Nolan seeks to make it six straight wins, which would put him into a tie with Arman Tsarukyan and Quillan Salkilld for the longest UFC win streak at 155 pounds.
Outside of Marshall, the other 23 fighters set to compete Saturday successfully made weight.
