The White Sox (57-90) will begin a three-game series in Cleveland against the Guardians (75-71).
Martín Pérez, 34, will start on the mound for the South Siders. Pérez enters this game with a 3.15 ERA, a 3.89 FIP, and 0.9 fWAR in 45 2/3 innings. During his last start, Pérez had an uncharacteristically poor outing. On September 6, Pérez pitched four innings against Detroit (84-63), allowing six earned runs on five hits. Pérez issued three walks and did not have any strikeouts. Despite that game, Pérez has
been a strong contributor to the starting rotation.
The White Sox will face Tanner Bibee, 26, a right-handed pitcher. Bibee has a 4.69 ERA and a 4.69 FIP, rendering him a 1.1-fWAR pitcher in 161 1/3 innings this season. This will be Bibee’s third start against the White Sox this season. In Bibee’s two starts against them, Bibee has pitched 11 innings and he has posted a 4.91 ERA in those games.
Here are tonight’s starting lineups:
The first pitch is scheduled to happen at 6:10 p.m. Central. As usual, CHSN will televise the game, and WMVP 1000 AM will have the radio coverage.
