What is the story about?
Las Vegas is a city known for glitz, glamour, and big events.
The city in the desert is where:
- Mike Tyson took a bite out of Evander Holyfield during a WBA title fight in 1997.
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar hit a skyhook to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader in 1984.
- Evel Knievel jumped the fountains at Caesars Palace on New Year’s Eve in 1967, but missed the landing, resulting in a crash that left him with 40 broken bones and a concussion.
- High-profile entertainers, including Liberace, Elvis, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Siegfried & Roy, and many others, performed sold-out shows.
But Las Vegas has never seen what is coming this weekend, and no, we are not referring to tonight’s Formula One Grand Prix.
Rather, it is the monumental event on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, where quarterback Shedeur Sanders will make his NFL debut when the Cleveland Browns take on the host Las Vegas Raiders.
That is still a day away, so for now, let’s run through the latest news and notes about the Browns
and the NFL in today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow.

- Carson Schwesinger not getting caught up in any awards, All-Pro talk (Beacon Journal) – The topic has become unavoidable as the Browns’ season has continued. It’s so unavoidable that even the subject of it can’t ignore the talk, as much as he might want to try.
