Bad News: Militao is injured
Fresh, but news. The Brazilian CB was subbed out from yesterday’s game due to a discomfort. Today’s tests confirmed he is injured and it’s expected to be out for two weeks. Therefore, he likely will miss the upcoming four games: Elche, Olympiakos, Girona and Athletic.
So, we only have 3 available CBs: Huijsen, Asencio and Alaba.
Training ahead of Elche
The available players concluded the third training session of the week. Tchouameni did part of the training with the group, while Rudiger, Mastantuono, Carvajal, Valverde and Courtois continue in recovery process.
On Sunday, Real Madrid faces Elche at 21:oo CET, continuing the series of games played away from home.
Mastantuono comments
I haven’t reached my best level yet. I had a good spell at River Plate, but this isn’t my peak. I’m going to keep working & improving. I want to stay at the top for a long time in the best club in the world. I want to stay for a long time.
I’m working hard to recover from my pubalgia and return. It’s a pain I’ve been dealing with for a while, and the club asked me to stop a bit & recover properly.
— The two players who surprised you the most since joining Real Madrid?
Bellingham and Mbappé. Jude is incredible to me. His presence on the field, his technique, what he conveys. Mbappe is in an incredible form. He’s a natural goalscorer.
Obviously the way Vini left the pitch was not the correct way, and he knew it and apologized to Xabi and the whole team. Vini is an incredible person who is questioned a lot, but the truth is, he’s an incredible person who gives joy in the dressing room and is always ready to play.
Rodrygo comments
After Brazil’s draw against Tunisia, Rodrygo was asked about his lack of playing time under Alonso.
There is not much to do, I have to keep working to try to earn the coach’s trust like I have with Brazil’s coach. I think only during training sessions I can keep improving, so he sees my dedication and maybe to have more opportunities to play.
