Barcelona legend Carles Puyol has warned Hansi Flick’s side not to get distracted by the ongoing chaos at Real Madrid ahead of El Clasico.
Los Blancos have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons ahead of the clash, with Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni reportedly fighting and a petition calling for Kylian Mbappe to leave the club going viral.
Barcelona head into the game needing just a point to be crowned champions, but Puyol says Flick’s team should not underestimate the opposition.
“What I’d tell the Barça players is to stay focused and not let all this news distract them. And think about winning to celebrate the league title,” he said.
“Winning after winning is always complicated. Egos can take over, and in a locker room everyone must understand that the team comes before the individual. If you don’t manage that, problems arise.
“This Clásico is extra motivation, being able to close out the season at home and win the League title. All the culers are really eager.”
The two teams meet at Camp Nou on Sunday night in La Liga.
