Michael Chandler appears ready to make a move up to 170 pounds.
Earlier this week, Chandler shocked fight fans by sharing a massive weight gain from his lightweight clash with Mauricio Ruffy at UFC White House last month. Chandler lost that fight — which was his fourth defeat in a row — but the 40-year-old veteran still plans on continuing his career with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). After all, Chandler is still one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster today and someone who always
comes into fight night in incredible shape.
Assuming Chandler is welcome back inside of the Octagon it appears the former lightweight contender is looking for a change in scenery, which would mean a move from 155 to 170 pounds. Fight fans can’t really blame Chandler for a potential move up considering he’s just 2-6 as a member of the UFC lightweight roster.
On Friday, Chandler took to social media to share a video for his fans suggesting a move to welterweight is incoming. Chandler looked absolutely jacked and claimed that “bulking season” was officially in full effect. Check it out below and let us know if this would be the right move for Chandler heading into the second half of 2026:
“No more starving,” wrote Chandler.
