Three weeks from today, the 2026 NFL draft will be one round deep with a lot of talk about what will happen on Day 2. As Cleveland Browns fans prepare for the most realistic best-case scenarios and dread the realistic worst-case ones, the NFL mock draft world continues to spin.
For many, mock drafts never stop.
For those mocking a trade down in Browns mock drafts, it is often dropping out of the sixth overall pick. Earlier Friday, we did just that in our “No QB or OT selected high” Cleveland mock draft.
What if, instead, the Browns make their top selection but find someone interested in moving up for their second pick in the first round?
SB Nation’s Doug Farrar has that exact scenario happening. In the first round, Farrar has Cleveland selecting the first offensive lineman off the board, Miami Hurricanes OL Francis Mauigoa:
While I have some concerns about his pass protection — there are times when he’s a bit too concerned with kicking your ass to stay in phase — the overall skill set and playing personality is a combination that can help to take a line to the proverbial next level. Right tackle, guard… wherever. You can figure that out as you go.
With the Browns, Mauigoa would see left tackle as his “wherever.”
Later in the first round, Cleveland acquires the lowest of the New York Jets first round picks in 2027 (they have three), and the 33rd pick in the 2026 draft. While it might be a low first-round pick next year, the Jets own their own selection, the Indianapolis Colts first rounder, and the better pick between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers; an extra first is a huge win.
It is in the second round that Farrar takes an even bigger left turn for the Browns. Despite adding an extra first in 2027, which could be used to help acquire a top-flight quarterback, Farrar has Cleveland selecting QB Garrett Nussmeier with the pick acquired from New York. Farrar sees a lot of upside in a healthy Nussmeier:
Farrar then gives the Browns another pass rush demon to pair with Myles Garrett, Cashius Howell out of Texas A&M:
In the end, Farrar’s two-round mock draft has Cleveland adding the first offensive lineman drafted (and not trading out of the sixth pick), an intriguing quarterback, another pass rusher, and a (probably late) first-round pick in 2027. A very different Browns mock draft.
What do you think of Farrar’s choices and trade for this 2 round Browns mock draft?
