Bayern Munich is continuing to invest in the future and Tim Binder is the latest academy product to earn a long-term commitment from the club per a release from FCBayern.com.
The 19-year-old winger / attacking midfielder has signed a professional contract that will keep him at Bayern Munich through June 30, 2030. Binder has been part of the Bayern Munich youth system since 2019, when he joined the academy from FC Augsburg at just 12-years-old. Since then, Binder has worked his way through the youth ranks
at the campus and into the first-team picture.
Binder’s progress became particularly noticeable during Vincent Kompany’s preparations for the 2026/27 season. Binder was given the opportunity to train and play with the senior squad and reportedly impressed with his performances. Despite some rough patches with decision-making, Binder flashed raw talent and a strong mindset that impressed many observers.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund was full of praise for the youngster.
“Tim has great potential: he’s fast, strong with the ball at his feet and has a great character. He recently demonstrated his talent in pre-season with the first team. Tim is a prime example of the excellent development opportunities at our Campus. He came to us at a young age and has continually developed in the youth teams. We are delighted to be continuing the journey with him at FC Bayern,” Freund stated.
Unfortunately, Binder’s positive momentum from the preseason has been interrupted by a hamstring tear, but he is working his way back to full health. When ready, he could slide into the role backing up Luis Díaz.
A contract through 2030 is a strong vote of confidence. Now, Binder has the opportunity to recover, continue developing and show that he can become the next Campus graduate to make his mark at the Allianz Arena.
