The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former New York Giants offensive lineman Evan Neal to their practice squad.
Neal had recently been released from the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad, where he landed after being released in the Giants’ final cutdowns following the 2026 training camp.
Neal, the 7th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has been the biggest draft bust in recent memory for the Giants. He hasn’t played a regular season snap for the Giants since the 2024 season, when he filled in for Jermaine
Eluemunor at right tackle. Eluemunor had originally been slated to play guard that year, but moved out to right tackle when Neal suffered an injury in camp.
The Giants then converted Neal to guard in 2025, which was where he played in the 2026 off-season as well, but he never found his way to the field on game day.
The Eagles’ decision to sign Neal comes as their offensive line is reshuffled by the retirement of RT Lane Johnson and the trade of OC Cam Jurgens. Philadelphia always seemed like a likely landing spot for Neal after he was released by the Giants. The Eagles have long prized size and power in their offensive linemen, both of which Neal has in spades. It remains to be seen if he’ll get the chance to compete for a starting job — or even be active on game days — as he attempts to salvage a once-promising career.
