What is the story about?
We’re going to find out this coming week who the award winners are for the different awards in each league. Had I had a vote, I’d go:
NL MVP: Pete Crow-Armstrong
AL MVP: Junior Caminero
NL Cy Young: Jacob Misiorowski
AL Cy Young: Cam Schlittler
NL Rookie of the Year: Sal Stewart
AL Rookie of the Year: Kevin McGonigle
Mostly stock picks, but they were remarkably easy this year to choose from. Maybe some of the different down ballot votes will be more interesting.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Baseball America has their top ten Phillies prospects up and running ($).It’s dire out there, folks. Dire indeed.
- Carlos Mendoza was trying to beat the Phillies in the NLDS almost 25 months ago. Now, he wants to take them to the next step ($).
MLB news:
- The Nationals like Jacob Young’s defense so much that they’ve given him a four-year contract extension. Hopefully he can hit!
- Speaking of finding your man, the Cardinals have theirs as they named Rob Cerfolio their new general manager.
- The Dodgers don’t have theirs with hitting coach Aaron Bates becoming a free agent after the two sides couldn’t agree on a contract extension.
