Boston College is getting closer and closer to getting back a major weapon.
Head coach Bill O’Brien shared following Thursday’s practice that tight end Kaelan Chudzinski will be available for Saturday’s game against Duke. He will be considered a game-time decision.
Chudzinski was initially viewed as out for the season following an Achilles injury suffered during the spring.
“He’s available,” O’Brien announced. “You know, he’s available. I think it’s a game-time decision and we’ll see how he does tomorrow
on walkthroughs and things like that. But he’s definitely trending in the right direction as far as his rehab.”
Chudzinski was named a Freshman All-American from The Athletic in 2025. He posted 24 catches for 313 yards and four touchdowns, which led all first-year tight ends across the nation.
This season, Eagle tight ends have just 152 yards receiving with no scores. Zeke Moore and Brady Clough have combined for 12 catches this year. The return of Chudzinski would provide a boost for the offense.
“When he did that, [we thought he’d] be out for the season, right? But [I] give a lot of credit to him, [Director of Sports Medicine Michael] Vigneau, [and Director of Rehabilitation] Joe Van Allen. Our training staff’s done a great job of getting him back ready to go, and we’ll see. We’ll see about Saturday. I’m not sure about Saturday.”
Whether it is this week or the coming weeks, it seems as though Chudzinski is on his way back to the field.
