According to a report from Die Sportredaktion, Bayern Munich youngster Javier Fernández is moving to 1. FC Nürnberg on loan:
FC Nuremberg has made a move in the transfer market, apparently acquiring a player
from FC Bayern Munich. The player is expected to arrive in Nuremberg soon – here are the details of the transfer.
According to nn.de, the club seems to have reached an agreement with Javier Fernandez. FC Bayern Munich has also reportedly given the green light for a loan deal.
Now, a fresh start is apparently set to take place at the Valznerweiher training ground. The loan deal is initially scheduled to run until next summer. According to nn.de, other clubs were interested in the youngster, but in the end, Nuremberg secured his signature.
This is a good opportunity for Fernández to compete for more minutes. Sitting in 8th place of 2. Bundesliga, FC Nürnberg is a good, competitive squad and should provide Fernández with an ample proving ground to show whether or not he has the chops for first team football on a regular basis.
Fernández is still working to get back to full form after a devastating knee injury that kept him out of action for 292 days per Transfermarkt. Since coming back in late 2025, the Spaniard has shown good progress.
